What does "accessible website" mean, and how does it impact by organization? Well, unless you required (and verified) your website developer and content creation staff to follow accessibility standards and best practices, people with disabilities will not be able to access your information. And now, the U.S. Department of Justice is ramping up efforts to litigate against organizations that practice this form of "discrimination".

MataiNet recently released an online Aging and Disability Resource Center for the state of Hawaii which is the first such system built entirely on open source content management software. The cost of the DotNetNuke community platform is zero, and 1,000s of software modules are available for it from developers all over the world - most of them for 10s of dollars. More importantly, ADRCHawaii is fully compliant with industry standards for XHTML and CSS, and adheres to best design practices for usability and accessibility guidelines of WAI.
